The grounds and gardens at La Coralina are and will always be a work in progress. When I began the project the grounds, like the hotel, were left to ruin for more than 20 years.

There really was nothing but weeds and coconuts. I had a small budget for landscaping which I quickly invested in trees to take root while the hotel was under remodel. From this point it has been weeks of digging plants from the jungle, living gifts from my neighbor's yards, and the occasional splurge at Finca Los Monos the incredible local botanical garden. I have a head full of future ideas. Every day I try to make the grounds a little more lovely!
