Getting to La Coralina is an easy adventure by air or by land and sea!
If you have booked three night or longer at the hotel transportation from town is free. On your arrival we pick you up at the airport or dock in the hotel's unusual 1972 Austrian army truck. Certainly the most photographed vehicle in town. The hotel is just 3 and ½ miles from town on the Bluff Beach Road . While the road is currently rough, getting back and forth to town isn't as hard as it might seem. We have two free shuttle to town daily at 9 a.m. and again at 4 p.m. Back to La Coralina at 4.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. The road takes 20 minutes each way. Cabs are available for $10 to $12 each way. Rental cars have finally come to Bocas as well. $65 per day at the airport and can be pre-arranged.
Flying to Bocas has become easier as you can now arrive from Costa Rica
as well as Panama City. From Panama City you will be arriving at the
Tocumen International Airport. From here take a taxi ($20 to $25) or
bus to the Regional Albrook Airport. You must have a flight that
arrives In Tocumen no later than mid-day or plan to spend the night and
fly the next morning. From Albrook two airlines fly twice daily to
Bocas. Airpanama www.flyairpanama.com or Aeroperlas www.aeroperlas.com - both approximately $ 90 each way.
Flying from Costa Rica you have two options. You will be arriving at the San Jose International Airport. Air Panama flys direct from the international airport to Bocas ($100 each way). The second option is to fly on Nature Air,($110 each way) a fantastic airline with scenic picture windows. This company flies from the smaller regional airport in San Jose www.natureair.com .
Coming by road you will arrive at one of two cites to reach Bocas. From Costa Rica you will cross into Panama at the Sixola/Guabito border. If you have a rental car it can be safely left in a secure lot for $4 per day. From the Panamanian side you will take a bus or taxi to Finca 60. This is the base for Bocas Marine Tours who provide a $6, 45 minute adventure-boat ride through the historic banana canals to Bocas DelToro. Without a doubt the most fun affordable boat ride in Bocas! Last boat leaves at 5 p.m.
From Panama Bocas is an eleven hour drive across the mountains to the town of Almirante. Leave your car at Lieza's Station for $3 per day and they will help you to the water taxi base just across the street. From here Bocas Marine Tours or Taxi 25 will get you to Bocas. Boats leave every half hour and the last lauch departs at at 6:30 p.m. cost $4.
The hotel is just seven room on six acres allowing for plenty of room to experience nature the simple way.
